Net work Printer Errors

I have a workstation that I need to connect to a network laser printer. When I try to install the printer I get spool32 errors. I get this when I try to install using the recommended driver. (Computer was previously installed to another laser printer). When I install using a new driver it gives me rundll32 errors and tells me the driver HPPTA.DRV is in use by another program. When I try to delete the driver to reinstall, it tells me I cant because it is in use by Windows. I cannot go to properties of the printer because thats when I get the rundll32 error.
