NETBIOS Problems

I have an application which use NETBIOS for LAN communication. When installing our app in preinstalled Win 2000P computers, the NETBIOS (NETBIOS activated over TCP/IP) traffic will not work properly.

We can solve this problem by formatting the harddisk and reinstall WIN 2000 P. another way is to uninstall all netwokr components and then reinstall them. Nobody I have asked have been able to explaine what, exactly, ?s the reason for this behavior. I would, very much, appreciate to get to know what this realy is about.

I think that it must be able to solve the problem in an easier way than reinstall everytime we shall install our app.

Can anyone help me?
