Netscape 6 back button

One user’s back button in Netscape 6.2 does not work. This is not due to a new window opening up. When her Netscape first starts up and then she goes to a link, there’s no back button to go back to the previous page. I’ve tried reinstalling Netscape but to no avail. Anyone seen this before? Thanks for any help.
