Netware File Access/Scripts on a VPN

I would like to be able to tunnel through our firewall (eventually, Checkpoint) to run login scripts that will connect to a Netware 5.0 server. Is it best to do this through NT, and if so what are the variables to use in the scripts? If not, how have you connected to Netware? Thanks!
