network card problems

Hey guys ihave two pc’s and want to network the pc’s together, 1 pc already has a network card and works fine with that network card. my other pc which is winXP and a Systems and Data Recovery and 10/100 Network Card is having problems i install thedrivers then i turn on the pc and i cannot get past the winXP splash screen.
when i take out the network card everything works fine. I go into safe mode and the network drivers are there and i have tryed reinstalling them
still doesnt work
any suggestions??
