Network configuration blank??

by rayloncorp . Updated 23 years, 2 months ago

Has anyone seen this before? Last week I downloaded an updated driver for my Intel Pro/100 network card from the microsoft update website. The download seemed to have completed and is listed as successful when I reviewed installed updates. After this download I checked my network configuration by right clicking on network neighborhood and selecting properties. I noticed that netbeui was not listed (I have this protocol installed in all of my other 30 PC’s in the office as well as TCP/IP). I loaded the protocol and restarted.
Upon restart I checked the configuration again and to my suprise the fields were all blank! Windows logon was listed as the primary logon. Nono of this is true since my domain login screen worked just fine and all ofmy IP addresses are correct when verified through “winipcfg”.
Since this did not make sense I checked the HP site for other updated drivers. I located and loaded a new driver for the card and restarted. No change to the configuration window after this update either.
How can I get my network configuration to display again? Where did everything go?
