Network Drive not automatically connecting VIA login script

I have a laptop that has a custom template on it. Everytime a user logs in their drives are not automatically mapping. The drives will stay connected after a manual mapping. When i try to run the login bat file manually it does not map either. Is there a setting in Windows XP registry that would restrict login scripts or bat files from running?
