Well, I haven’t been here in a while, but I see the same knowledgeable people are still here. I recently got laid off from my job and I was thinking about taking the Network+ cert test. I ordered a recent revision of the study kit and found the textbook is 700 pages long! My MCP text was only 400 pages long.
I find the text goes into miniscule detail for everything from electrical engineering to hardware function and UNIX to AppleTalk. Yet, the flash cards and software tests cover, what I think, is more general concepts/questions.
If anyone who has taken this, could you please let me know to what degree this test scrutinizes? It would sure help me with my studying. I am not looking for answers, so please don’t misconstrue this as cheating. The kit says at least nine months of networking is required to study for this cert. From the content, I would say nine YEARS. Quite frankly, my head is starting to hurt.
Thank you for any feedback you can provide.
