Network printer and parallel printer

I can’t differentiate what is the advantage of buying a Printer which have built in RJ-45 network interface and just use parallel port connected to one of the PC and then just share it.
Save cost.Would the print server or printer with LAN interfaceable to print much faster after sending queue compared to normal parallel ports only
