Network Printer Issue

Here’s the basic layout:
NT 4.0 Domain with about 10 workstations. Most running NT 4.0.

There is an HP 1050C DesignJet plotter with a Jet Direct card. One computer in particular has the following problem: He has the printer in his printers folder and can plot to it from Word, Cadkey and other programs. BUT, if he launches Excel, then tries to select File|Print, that particular printer doesn’t appear in the drop-down. In addition, from within the printers folder, we can’t make that printer the default. It just doesn’t accept it. Right-click, select Default and it doesn’t “take”.

I removed it and re-added it with the current drivers from HP’s web site but it didn’t help.
