Network Printer Problem

by eric.d.hines . Updated 24 years, 8 months ago

Have peer-to-peer TCP/IP network w/4 computers, Cat 5 w/hub/3Com net cards. Three computers have printers attached to their respective parallel ports.
Computer #1, 350mhz PII, Win98, w/HP 720c color printer.
Computer #2, 133mhz PI, Win98, w/EpsonAL 1500 Laser printer.
Computer # 3, 166mhz PI, Win95, w/HP 1100se laser printer.
Computer #4, 166mhz PI, Win95, Laptop, no printer.

Problem:

All printers work well from every computer except the HP 720c. The 720 works fine from the computer it is attached to, and all others appear to load drivers and set up print function. When printing from other computers, I get “printer not turned on” type error….probably due to lack of 2-way communication. Everything checks out between the HPand the computer it is attached to. All printers are seen via the network. All have print sharing enabled. Any ideas????
