Network XP and 98 P2P

Previously I had 2 98SE machines networked at home via a crossover cable, and everything was happy.

I’ve upgraded one of the machines(clean install) to XP and I can’t seem to get the network working.
It gives me the little bubble down the bottomright that says network cable disconnected. It’s definitely connected though.
All my XP setting appear to be the same as my 98 settings.
