Networking Problems with Vista

I just purchased a new computer running Vista Home Premium. After a lot of trouble, (mostly caused by the pre-installed Norton Internet Security 2007) I have gotten it onto my pre-existing XP network. However, it does not seem possible to connect to the entire C drive, but only to folders on the drive. Does anyone know how to get around this problem, and connect directly to the C drive?
