Networking XP with 98 user authenticatio

I cannot get Windows 98 computer to access my windows XP professional computers over the network. A few days ago, everything was working fine. I had no trouble accessing the XP from 98 boxes. I loaded 814995 and 816093 from the update site. I causeda few problems with Norton Internet security 2003 so I used the system restore to roll my system back. Everything seemed fine but now none of the computers with windows 98 can connect to it, when you try you get the “enter network password” dialog box. I can still access the XP computers with the other windows 2000 and XP computers though. I have not changed any user accounts or security settings. I think the problems lies somewhere in the user authentication of the windows 98 computers. I Any suggestions!!!
