new 2.5 HDD in external encloser

I have a WD120 2.5 HDD that is new I placed it in a A Power usb encloser. I am running a HP Pavillion 5000 with WIN XP home the computer identifies a usb mass storage drive but it does not appear in the “My Computer” list.
