New Connection Wizard

I am using Windows XP and I am attempting to Connect to the Internet using DSL.
How Do You Connect To The Internet
This is the only choice I am given to connect:
3.Connect using a broadband connection that is always on
The other 2 choices are grayed out, they are
1.Connect using a Dial-up modem
2.Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password.
Number 2 is what I will need but I am unable to select it. What would I need to do in order to restore this information?
