We are in the process of creating a new data center in a new building and I have some concerns about our location in the new building. The datacenter will be on the 3rd floor of a 3 story building off to one side of the building.
(No say in the location)
Here are some of my concerns:
1. The pipes for the fire sprinklers outside of the datacenter will run over the top of the datacenter. The general contractor doesn’t see this as a problem, I see the potential for a broken pipe soaking the datacenter. Any alternatives?
2. A/C units will be on the roof directly overhead of the datacenter. Is there the possibility of the A/C units running overhead causing issues in the datacenter.
3. A generator is proposed for the roof as well. Again will the generator running overhead of the datacenter cause any issues?
