I recently bought a new motherboard, and installed a 700 MHz Intel Celeron processor chip. Board has max 728 Mb ram capability (192 Mb installed), 2 ISA slots, 5 PCI slots, 1 AGP slot, 2 USB ports, 2 serial ports, 1 parallel port. I have a SCSI card for my Zip drive in one of the ISA slots (I’ve tried the shared and the non-shared slots), and my desktop (Intel) digital camera is plugged into the USB port (I’ve tried both of them). The problem is that the PnP in Windows 98 SE will not detect either the USB device or the SCSI board. They don’t show up in the Device Manager in Control Panel. And since neither piece of equipment has been detected, I have no camera and no way to back up.
These worked fine on my old (Gateway) motherboard (233 Mhz, PII). What can the problem be? And how do I fix it? Everything else works perfectly.
Thanks for any help you can give.
