New users can’t logon on the domain

I have a problem with new users created on a w2k domain, when I try to log on the domain from a w9x machine I receive this message “user name not found” but in machines with w2k pro I have no problem, what could be the problem? I have installed dsclient with no results ,I need help please, thanks.
