Nicknames in Exchange 2000

Hi everyone.
I can setup nicknames in Microsoft Outlook 97/98/2000 but want to know if I can create nicknames on an exchange 2000 server so that anyone can type for example MT as a nickname and the exchange server will realise this is a nickname? This would allow me to centrally manage nicknames people want to use.
