I have a Windows 2000 Pro pc on a peer-to-peer workgroup. Yesterday it could see other computers on the network and access the internet. Today, it can only see others on the network. I can ping other internal ip addresses and the Linksys DSL router but cannot ping any external ip address. Not the DNS ip address provided by our DSL provider, nothing. Other computers can get outside just fine. Nothing that we know of has changed on this pc. I have uninstalled the network adapter, the networking components, set a static ip address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS server. Originally, it was obtaining its ip address, gateway, and subnet mask information from the router. I disabled LMHost lookup because I have had W2K Pro computers that couldn’t get on the network when the Enable LMHost lookup box was checked in the TCP/IP properties. Aside from reinstalling the OS, I don’t know what else to do.
