I have set up a home web server with W2K pro,
IIS and SQL server 7, and I also use Access.
I had some ASP pages set up that were working
fine for a couple of months. I decided to
expand my database and make it searchable
from the web, using keywords, author names,
etc through SQL queries. Since I don’t know
data bases, I was diddling wildly with all
the data base programs and the database
servers, trying to learn how to do that.
Somewhere along the way I must have messed
things up pretty well, because now my ASP
files won’t load–I get a server error 500
message, and I also can’t log into my ftp
server whether with an regular login or
anonymously. HTML works ok, and I can browse
directories and download that way. I have
reloaded everything except Windows itself,
re-setup the dsn files, checked my settings
for IIS and Sequel server over and over,
reapplied the service pack–nothing works.
Does anyone have any idea of what might have
happened and how I can fix it?
