no boot

my pc: p4 2.4; 256 ddr 266mhz ram; gforce 4 64mb ddr mx; xp home

I have installed a new 19 inch monitor (hyundai)and i now experience intermittent boot failures. the pc has 1 post beep (good) but fails at the ram count, the machine powers down completely.

any ideas…
