No floppy disk installed

I installed NT Server 4 on a Compaq Deskpro workstation. The CD rom installed ok and is accessible thru windows but the floppy drive didn’t install and can’t be seen in My Computer.
I’ve tried re-installing server a few times, I changed the floppydrive and the connecting cables to no avail.
There is nothing wrong with the floppy drive itself – it is accessible thru the BIOS setup of the workstation so I suspect it’s not support by NT Server?
Any suggestions much appreciated
