Suddenly we are unable to access Help and Support, because we apparently ‘lost’ Helpctr.exe. We have tried all solutions as suggested by www.kellys-korner-xp.com/top10faqs.htm, but to no avail. The last thing happening beforehand was the unsuccessful automatic nocturnal download of MS patches KB 840374 and 835732. The latter kept itself installing over and over again automatically at the preset time, so we stopped the automatic update and ‘uninstalled’ whatever was left. I don’t know whether all this is relevant to our problem however. Since DELL Support told us that we may have to reinstall XP entirely, we rate the importance of this question the full 500 points because of the nightmarish scenario this would bring to us.
Please help us if possible.
