No “Server” service in W2K Pro

Compaq Deskpro running W2K Pro SP3. 256mb Ram. I do not have the “Server” service available in my “Services” folder. Of course this is keeping me from sharing out folders. All other services are present and started, including “Workstation”. Ran net config and verified that Workstation is the only service running.

I have tried uninstalling SP3 and then reinstalling SP2, no change. I have been told to “Just reinstall Windows”, but the rest of the system is running great and I’l like to avoid that. Could something in the registry keep the service from showing up?
