no sound after installing Win2k Pro!

After installing Win2K Pro on my computer I lost sound completely. Same result with both a clean install and upgrade. I have sound with win Me but lose it with 2k pro. I did get the message that “Microsoft Kernel Audio Splitter” was not found as well as “Microsoft Kernel DRM Descrambler Filter” toward the end of the installation. Within the device manager, I have a conflict with “Microsoft Kernel System Renderer” under Sound, video and game controllers. I also have a conflict with “PCI Device” under Other devices. I have tried installing win2k sound drivers to no avail. My system is a Gateway PIII 900Mhz. Anyone have the same problem before? I appreciate your help.
