No Windows NT Domain Controller

by jahaja . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

I recently downloaded the IE6.0 and installed it on a NT 4.0 SP6a system. After IE6 installation I did the Windows Update story downloading and installing security patches. After this was done the next boot made the following message:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: NETLOGON
Event Category: None
Event ID: 5719
Date: 12.10.01
Time: 09:56:08
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
No Windows NT Domain Controller is available for domain . (This event is expectedand can be ignored when booting with the ‘No Net’ Hardware Profile.) The following error occurred:
The specified procedure could not be found.

Data:
0000: 7a 00 00 c0 z..?

I tried to uninstall all patches and IE6 but the error is still there. When I inspect my files on the local disk some of them is compressed! One of the files witch is compressed is NETLOGON.DLL! I know the error is linked to this compression and I want to uncompress these files. How do I uninstall thecompression on files that are in use? Making a copy of the file, delete the original, rename the copy doesn?t work. If anyone can make the right answer for this there will be points available!
