I have set up a Win2K ftp server to allow access from vendors to pick up files. Each vendor will connect via a virtual server connection using non-standard ports. Access, file & folder permissions are set by NTFS for the vendor (Modify), and administrators (Full).
The ftp server is behind the (Checkpoint) firewall, on an extranet. Full ftp access through the firewall has been enabled (for now).
Ftp works fine from the local network, and even through a dialup connection to the local ISP, but external connections (vendor, test from home) have a problem. In this case, once logged in the folder cannot be browsed etc, with a similar message displayed to that when Passive mode is required (which we tried).
The system works fine using the same setup, but using the standard contol port (21).
Prt conflicts have been checked and are not the source of the problem.
Solid ideas/similar experiences & solutions would be welcomed.
