Norton 7.5.1 and XP

While trying to install NAV 7.5.1 (XP version) on my home PC, the install stopped about 3/4 of the way through and would not continue and completely locked my system. A cold boot was necessary just to restore my system. In checking Control Panel, Add/Remove programs there is nothing listed for the NAV install to remove, it never completed the install. I have cleaned the registry (REGEDIT) for every possible occurance but everytime I reboot or restart the system, the NAV ICON is in the desktray and is still enabling File SYstem Protection, but yet it is not installed. How can I get rid of this annoying thing? I am running Panda Titanium just because of this problem. Help please, if possible.
