not printing from dos!

i have windows 2000, at work, we still use one dos based program. last couple of days i am unable to print anything from dos based programs, but can print from windows and internet. i have tried reinstalling and rebooting, but nothing seems to work. i have also checked in printers folder under properties. everything seems to be ok. what could be the problem?
