On an NT4-SP6 network, I have a user that travels from site to site with a Toshiba Notebook (w98se). Each time the user is at this location he must: run winipcfg, release all, renew all to renew an IP address. At that location I’m using an Intel internet sharing device acting as the DHCP server. This is the only location we have this problem, but several other notebook users can login and check their email without going through the “renew all” process. I’ve ordered a new NIC for the notebook, but really have no other ideas to try. I checked the TCPIP properties for the NIC card and everything seems consistent with other notebooks (compared to my own).
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Belinda
