I had to do a system restore on my computer after removing something I shouldn’t have, and when the system restarted everything appeared fine, I logged onto my user profile and got the confirmation screen that the restore had been successful. Then my screen continued to load. Unsuccessfully.
My desktop picture is visible, but there are no icons and no menu or task bar visible. I can access the task manager. I’ve been through some of the previous threads on this issue, and I’ve tried “regedit”, tried accessing the restore via command prompt and have run sfc.exe /scannnow. I’ve had no luck with any of them. I don’t think it’s a virus as I’d done a virus scan not long before the restore.
Anyone have any other suggestions? I’m loathe to spend a fortune speaking to someone in IT support.
