Novell login on Update to Windows 2000

I just upgraded an NT4 notebook to Windows 2000 with the upgrade feature. Novell client on machine is 4.8. After update I cannot login to machine or network. After logging in it brings me right back to the Novell client login screen. The only way to get the workstation up is in Safe without network support. Anyone have any ideas
