“Now connected to MSN at 48kbps”

How to show the message “Now connected to MSN at 48kbps”?
When connecting to Internet through MSN, it always used to show “connected to MSN at 48kbps”.
Now, I am not able to get that message when connected to the Internet through MSN.
Also, I am not able to see the connection notification icon in green (2 little monitors that used to change from black to light green when the client was talking to the server). It always remain black , even though I am connected to the Internet and able to browse the Internet.
I want it to change it to green when browsing.
I have reinstalled MSN and also changed the access numbers but the issue persists.
