NT 4 Total backup

i am using nt4 in enterprise edition on a Hewelett Packard Server LC3. i am doing a total backup using arcserve dat24x6 tape drive. in the event of a crash can i restore the whole backup(includes OS) ? will it work ? or how do i do it ?
