I have a dual boot workstation with two installs of NT WS 4.0. Let’s call them A and B. I want to edit the registry of A while booted to B.
A can’t log on to the network.
A has an autologon to a non-administrative account.
A automatically shuts down about 15 – 30 seconds after windows starts.
The A install was created by restoring a backup from tape of a separate WS. The hardware is different. It can’t logon to the network, for example, because the incorrect driver is installed for the adapter.
If I coul stop the autologon I could get in to an administrative account and install the proper drivers, that is if I can stop it from shutting down after 15 – 30 seconds. The original WS does not do this. It is not a script telling itto shut down. There are no scripts on the machine that I did not put there.
