NT 4.0 Server Parallel Installation

How do I perform an NT 4.0 server parallel installation. My server hangs up at boot up right at “Press space bar now to invoke last know good menu”. It locks up with no key board function. We need to save the data and would like to do a parallel intallation then repair the original installation.
