NT 4.0 System Log

Can anyone suggest to me a way to prevent EVERY print job from being logged to the System Log? When viewing the log via the Event Viewer, the thing is cluttered w/every print job I send.
On the server, the log keeps filling up the log to the pointwhere we’re getting a msg every 2-3 days informing us that the log is full.
I know that I can set it to overwrite or purge previous entries, but this is not what I want, because then valid alerts wind up getting purged.
