NT 4.0 W/Station Print Monitor

I’ve fixed my SPOOLSS.exe Dr. Watson errors by deleting the print monitors in the registry of my NT 4.0 W/Station P/C. Now i cannot add a local printer. The O/S does not see LPT1. The Bios is fine but NT will not let me add a local printer . Any Ideas ?
