NT read/write errors over WAN

by iamtrackman . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

A client s users of a 16bit FoxPro App over a WAN connection consistantly receive a NT sys. msg. of “the system was attempting to transfer file data from buffers to:
(\Mappeddrive:\servername\directoryname\filename on the other side of the WAN). The write operation failed and some of the data may have been written to the file” this is immediatly followed by a NT sys. msg. “Gereral system error 1104 has occureed. File read error”. Note also that the software runs fine on andy LAN segment and Iwas unable to reproduce these error over our own WAN but then again we do not experience the traffic or use encrytion as our client does. Every Network and Software engineer I have spoke to agrees this sounds like a time out issue or lost thread butno one to date can pinpoint the annomally. My next direction for testing is to modify the registry values and/or have the carrier adjust the line buffering. Has anyone come across this and if so what was the solution?
Any suggestion will be considered, I am reaching for straws on this one
