I ran several utilities including the IIS Lockdown tool on my NT4SP6a member server recently when Nimda came out. My member server has it’s own domain but has been added to the office’s domain and participates on the office domain network.
Now when I right click on the “Start” button, the top two “Open” and “Explore” options are greyed out so I can’t select them. However, I can navigate using Windows Explorer to my in use Profile directories.
I’m sure it was one of the security patches that I installed but quite frankly I’ve done so many, I can’t be sure which caused this problem. Now I’m a lot more careful about which security patches to install.
Any ideas how to correct this? Will running the Windows Repair reset security orwill I have to reinstall?
