NT40 print error

On an NT40 server, SP6, about 408MB disk space still free on ‘C:’, Tektronix 850DP printer, user sends large job to TEK printer. After trying to spool the file I get the error (paraphrasing) ‘Error writing to disk…(device name:address)… not enough disk space.
Is it possible to have the spooler build on another drive? If so, how. If not, will simply adding an internal drive to the printer resolve the problem? Other than this, I see no other options.
