ntbackup not showing all files in catalo

Using WinNT 4.0 sp6a:
When cataloging my backup files using ntbackup, I have 2 directories off the root of one set that are not showing any files (multiple subdirectories in each directory off the root). All the folders for the subdirectories are created, but the files do not show up in the catalog. There is one directory from the root in this set that does backup properly (files are shown in catalog). When I look at the backup log, it does not show any problems (the format for the log is to show the directory name, not the file name). I never get any error message–never any idicaation that the file was skipped or any other problems. Any suggestions????
