I have an Acer Aspire 3620. I had a trojan horse attack my system and in which it took me some time to get rid of it. Afterwards it said that a file that I came to find out was missing. I called Acer’s tech support number and tried to restore my system through ALT and F-10. That did not work. After that I restarted my computer and it said it now had an NTLDR problem. The exact message reads, “NTLDR file missing. Pressing any key to restart.” I told the tech this and he said that if I order the Acer recovery disks, which there is three of them along with a boot disk, that my computer would be back in working order.
i paid the $50 and shipping and got my disks. I started to process to fix my computer, but it gets about 5 minutes into the process and tells me that the same file that has been missing is still missing.
I again called Acer and they said my hard drive is messed up, and that I would have to pay around 150 dollars to buy a new one.
I have been doing some research and am not to sure if that is what needs to be done. So any help that anyone can give me would be great!
Thanks.
