Whenever I open large PDF files (50–100+ pages) on my office PCs, they become sluggish. Pages take time to render, scrolling lags, and text appears pixelated for a second before it clears up. I’m using a mix of Acrobat and built-in PDF viewers, Windows 10 PCs, 8 GB RAM, SSDs.
What I’ve tried so far:
Updating Acrobat and drivers
Lowering display DPI / disabling smooth scrolling
Using a lighter PDF viewer (like Foxit)
Disabling certain plugins / extensions
Does anyone know which settings or software tweaks help speed up large PDF handling? For reference, I recently built a tool for calculating employee end-of-service benefits, and I often use it to generate large contracts — so smooth PDF performance is important to me.
Any ideas or tips would be great!
