We currently have 4 server’s, running NT 4.0 and 2k. Supporting 75 users. Using Veritas Backup Exec 8.5 for backup with the IDR (Intelligent Disaster Recovery) option.
Now my boss is very nervous about a disaster that might happen to our site (not computers, but site including computers), like a fire. He asked me to look for option’s for off site backup. We have about 14GB of data that has to be backed up every night. I don’t think online backup is an option for me (we do have T1).
Does any one know of any other option exept for online backup?
Here is what I was looking at:
1. Have a computer in a different building with a dedicated high speed connection that runs a backup in addtion to the one on site.
2. Have someone take the backup tapes off site every day instead of just once a week (this dosn’t solve the hardware problem).
