Oh great, how long will it load

Ok so I got a eMachines M5310 notebook running AMD Alton XP-M. When I turn it on, it usssually takes 30 secands to load but now for some reason, it takes about 5 min to hust bring up the login screen, and dont ask how long it takes to load to my profile. I just reinstalled the os, windows xp pro russian edition, and it still does the same thing. The pc has a 1.80 GHz and it usaully takes fast stuff ,but now the os berrly works. WHat could be the problem, how can it be fixxed?
