Old video card takes over the new one

I installed a new video card Nvidia GeForce FX5500 and it worked fine but everytime I reboot my computer the onboard video card attempted to take over and converted my display back to it. I tried to uninstall the onboard video card but the problem exists whenever I restart the computer. Anyone has a solution how to uninstall the onboard video driver permanently, please help. Thanks.
