Win95 share is user-level, and using accounts from NT4sp4 PDC, noone on NT can open the share unless it is shared to the world ( defeats the purpose ), no matter their access level or share name config. MS says I need a newer version of VSERVER.VXD on the Win95 that is doing the sharing, but does not make the file available for download. I refuse to believe that this is a rare problem, and wonder if anyone out there has the updated vxd files: v4.00.954 4/24/97 for OEM & sr1 ; v4.00.1112 7/24/97 for sr2 & sr2.x. Furthermore while trying something ( involving v4.00.2222 from Win98, backwards compatible? ha ) I found that on a sr2 pc it could be set to user-level but I couldn’t get the user listing from the server. It just told me to try again later. Rebooted, reinstalled, etc., same error. Any input is appreciated.
